Benefits of Nichrome
- Better creeping resistance and warm strength as compare to iron-chromium-aluminium alloys. Although FeCrAl alloys offer good forming properties they are not superior to nicrhome.
- Nichrome maintains its ductility for longer period.
- Fully oxidized nihrome offers higher emissivity than FeCrAl therefore under the uniform surface load, nichrome alloys have smaller element temperature.
- Specific low temperature services need non-magnetic material, Nicrome doesn’t possess magnetic properties opposite o FeCrAl alloys that only nonmagnetic at temperatures above 600oC as compare to non-oxidized FeCrAl alloys.
